shutdown / startup commnads for 123solar?

Post by morreale » Fri Aug 19, 2016 6:34 pm

i have a cron job running each day on my pi to reboot since about once a month it seemed to lock up and this way i hopefully can prevent that.

do i need to shutdown 123solar before the shutdown to prevent any corruption?

if so what is the shutdown command?

thanks

is there also something i can run that will email me once it starts up?

Just make sure is the sun is down before rebooting to avoid missing values.. But, more seriously there is no need to reboot each day
You can create a script that send mail at startup but i sure you won't take attention after a while.

i reboot at midnight. the reason i started doing it every day instead of weekly or monthly is that it owuld sometimes lock up right after the reboot and i wouldnt pay attention to to my pvoutput idle alerts and i would miss lots of data
