MeterN and Raspberry Pi with a pulse power meter

Post by flane » Mon Aug 11, 2014 7:29 am

It's possible to use the Raspberri Pi for the log consumption with MeterN as shown here?
http://www.ramge.de/powermonitor/doku.p ... ulse_meter

I already use the Raspberry with 123solar to log photovoltaic production, and I hope it can be used for consumption.

greetings

It certainly is I have it working on the same pi as my 123, just note on one of my posts the issue I had with the com port. I am just having a little issue with linking the 2 at the moment.

You need to make some changes to MeterN to use it with the Raspberry and the impulse power meter on the Raspberry's GPIO?

Instead of using the pi directly I am using the arduino board and software to give info to pi as per the info here

OK, but it's possible to use directly the raspberry, without going through Arduino?

Sorry, I wanted to say:
it's possible to use directly the raspberry, without going through Arduino, with MeterN?

My problem is how to import the data read via GPIO (like this: http://www.ramge.de/powermonitor/doku.p ... ulse_meter) on MeterN.

Yes it is possible but the com app have yet to be write ;)
Check the poolmeter example, you first need a code part on the rasp that simply count the pulses. Then, you increment a virtual counter of the pulse value during a 5 min lapse.

I checked poolmeter, but it's too much for me.
I'm not an expert programmer

If someone wants to help me, I can do the necessary tests.
Thank you

I found this script that reads data from a impulse power meter (with a raspberry) and sends them to Emoncms.
https://github.com/kieranc/power

It should not be difficult to adapt it to send data to MeterN

Someone knows how to do?

Thanks ;)
